The SP pretends like they know it all, that they are detectives, only they can’t figure out who owns modernwhomprecords.com? (Lots of other stuff they can’t figure out as well. LOL) I even read something so lame as “I don’t think it’s Gray, but it’s someone that knows how to write like Gray” and someone else wrote “The site was started in 2005.” Where are these people getting their info?! Searching a .com is not that complicated! Makes you wonder if some of them were dropped on their heads as babies or something.
Well, the big mystery solved. Gray Charles owns it. The site was created on June 16, 2008. The site is hosted by DreamHost, the same hosting provider who hosts Gray’s other personal site Pop Culture etc as well.
Some say it’s mean to Taylor and is making fun of him. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. But Gray’s definitely having a good laugh at the Soul Patrol though. Can you really blame him? He’s probably reminded why he stopped blogging to begin with.

Gray, figures. I’m not surprised he’s taking jabs at Taylor. I’ve been reading the fan boards and there seems to be disappointment all around. Between Grease and now Taylor’s new “Early Works CD.” Is that is supposed to be something amazing? He’s re-releasing the same damn songs. I’m surprised he’s not doing “Taylor Hicks Greatest Hits.”
Can’t forget his own record label either. I could start my own record label too, in a matter of minutes, in fact. This has got to be a joke. Modern Whomp Records? That catchy name didn’t work the first time around, so why keep it? Ugh.

He’s releasing a CD of his older music. Could be both of his early albums re-mixed or whatever. To be released in August.
His new CD that he is working on will be new music to be released in the Fall.

The MWR site is listed as Private Registrar, BUT yes it uses the same web hosting company as Gray’s other site (Pop Culture Tourettes). So it’s pretty obvious that it’s Gray, since it sounds like Gray’s snark, and it uses the exact same host. The chances that it’s someone other than Gray that sounds like him and uses the same host is slim to none - especially since there are thousands of hosts to choose from.
I read it and thought that’s GC, not sure why he wouldn’t just come out and say so. But we know he likes to mess with the fans. It’s a little weird that he would buy that name, right when he hears that Taylor is starting his new so-called record label. Smart move for Gray I guess.
The early works stuff, just seems like Taylor’s trying to make some money off the same old thing. Hope it works out for him. I won’t hold my breath.

Yep, he can release whatever he wants and however many times he wants……But rereleasing the same old songs gets kind of boring after a while for present fans. I don’t think he’ll have a new album ready by fall. It seems he’s trying to have something for the new fans he might pick up from this Broadway thing, and I would think if his album was ready for Fall he would focus on that instead. My bet is the album will NOT be ready by fall and he wants to give people something to chew on.
About the Boogie board, the place has been run to the ground by AmyH. It’s not the same place Ash opened up. They don’t allow any realistic comments on there, that’s why many of us old timers don’t post there. They try to tell you what you think and what to believe. It’s ridiculous.

The Boogie USED to be a great place. It used to be about the music and there was a lot of really smart people posting there. Those people have all stopped posting there and some came out to discuss the Grease stuff and went back under after they were attacked for having different views.
This site is considered BAD because it was created after MFOYA (A LOT of blogs were). The Boogie doesn’t want to believe bad things about Taylor. God forbid he lie. They will make excuses till the end of time.

The last straw for me was when AmyH made an announcement on the Boogie that nothing MFOYA wrote was true and it was all made up. I agree with whoever said Taylor won’t release any new-music CD by fall. This early works one is way too close to the fall; there is no time to distribute and promote this one before having to gear up for the next one. So, Modern Whomp Records is GC? I guess I’m not surprised. Gray loved to play mind games, but i don’t think Taylor is amused by this. In fact, I’m sure he’s probably very pissed. As far as releasing old material, I think it will be a failure. If he couldn’t sell records by being the American Idol, what makes people think that people will buy it from his appearance in Grease? I don’t see it and it will be very tough, especially with no label support or promotion. But, as usual, I wish him the best of luck. Regarding the BB, I left there a long time ago. You are not allowed to think, have opinions or a mind of your own. If by chance, you do express your opinion and it’s not completely favorable, you are accused of being a troll. Taylor is the punch line in so many jokes, he is listed in joke books under “fool.” Taylor looks so fat in Grease, he is losing fans by the dozens. Taylor can’t carry a tune in a bucket. Taylor and Bill are a couple, but the delusional SP refuse to acknowledge them. Taylor is actually losing his hair; if you look closely in the photos, you can see bare scalp. Taylor is difficult to work with and won’t follow direction. The cast of Grease can’t wait to get rid of him. Taylor has a sweat disorder. I have no objection to an Early Works cd, but i’m not sure why there’s going to be one. He sells IYT and UTR after concerts, and even though they were originally demo cds, they’re both very good ones.
When the modernwhomprecords site forwarded me to taylor’s myspace (which i very rarely visit), “Tighten Up” from IYT started playing. I haven’t listened to IYT in ages, and that song is one of my faves from the cd. “Somehow”, “The Fall”, “On Broadway” and of course “Georgia” are gems from IYT. Would they be better re-done? I’m not sure but I would be willing to check them out on an Early Works cd…

I’m surprised that Taylor has time to put out an early works CD with the way his scheduale has been so busy this year. I don’t know how he managed to fit in those last 10 golf tounaments, or find time to edit his DVD, and get it all ready to release in the fall of 2007. That must have taken him a lot of time, but I’m just glad that it’s right on scheduale for the date that he promised it’d be released by. I’m also sure picking out just the right songs to copy onto his early works CD must have kept him busy for months as well. I bet that Taylor ain’t even had time to go to the mall, unless it was one he was performing at. It’s a good thing that he loves us fans so much and is willing to do all this just for us.

Taylor ain’t forgot any of us fans, no matter you say, and I can tell you that for a fact. I was at his last mallcert back in April, and he not only took the time to sign autographs for everyone there, he also remembered both of our names. Now how many artists out there that take the time to learn every last one of their fans names? I’d say that Taylor’s the only one, which is what makes him so special.

I just reading the latest Poll Weekly, and it confirmed what we already knew about Taylor, that he has sold more records than Elvis and The Beatles put together. There ain’t too many artists that could accomplishment something that big, and Taylor did it without one second of airplay. Just think of how many more CD’s he would have sold if the radio would have played him, and if I could have gotten that third mortagage. When a fansite insists that people go on faith alone, it’s like one of those huge churches that live off the donations of people who think the preachers are heaven-sent. When the preacher sleeps with half the choir, the fall from grace is the BIGGEST THUD EVER! Likewise, when Taylor Hicks fails to deliver on the outrageous expectations of some fans, the THUD YOU HEAR is the dropping of his CD in the wastebasket. Roger, you must not be a fan of Taylor, or else you’d know that for us SP’ers, it’s all about the onion. We travel from concert to concert just trying to get some shots of it, which is kind of hard sometimes when we got to try and keep from thudding long enough to take the picture. I can remember at one concert, I took a shot of it just as I was about to hit the ground, and that’s the last thing I remember about that night. I woke up with a pile of Granny Panties on top of me, and it took me about an hour to get myself out from under them all. I would have been upset that I missed the concert, but then I saw that my onion shot had turned out perfect, so I was happy that I at least got what I came there for.

I see the GC disciples have come out in droves at the Boogie-lmao. I swear I think some of them would actually die for the twerp. He can’t stand me because I called him a shimp coward-lmao- after he shut his blog down he put up this site that he could say all kind of nasty things about Taylor and others but noone could respond back. So we mutually dislike each other. I told one of Tay’s band members I thought GC had sex with an inflatible doll and he cracked up and confirmed the BAND could NOT stand GC and they all thought he was wierd. And now the disciples are still saying that Gray was not fired- NOT. Taylor dropped him quicker than a hot potato and they just won’t accept it. GC is an ass and Taylor finally woke up and saw him for what he is. I swear Taylor has the most dillusional fans I have ever seen in my life. And talk about attitude??? OMG - they are holier than thou- they think they have supreme intelligence and are supreme in every way. I’d be more than happy to tell you all about the cruiseshipcert. I could talk about it all night, if all of you got time to listen. I don’t know why the others have been so hush hush about it, when the 4 of us agreed that it was the best cruiseshipcert we’d ever been to. It was also the only one but that don’t matter, we know that no one has a better onion than Taylor, so it had to be the best. From the moment Taylor walked on that stage, all of our eyes were right where they always are, and they stayed there till the end of the show, except for the one time that I accidently thudded on one of the cruiseship workers, but that’s what they get for walking behind me just when that onion was shaking. I can’t tell you what it was shaking to, cause I really don’t remember any of the songs Taylor sang at the concert, but I do know that he did a great job on every one of them. Plus we spent the whole next day voting in the cruiseship poll about who was the best entertainment , and Taylor won by a landslide, which just proves right there that it was the best concert they’d ever had.

I sure did have the best time ever, mforphans3 . One thing I gotta say to MusicBizDropout is that they might have paid only 25 cents for Taylor’s CD, but remember that he pockets 95% of that, so he still made a good profit on it. Before you ask me how I know that, I’ll tell you right now that I’ve seen copies of Taylor’s bank statements, and every contract he’s ever signed, so I know exacly what he makes, and how much he’s got in each one of his pockets, and so does every one of us fans that have been to one of his concerts/mallcerts/cruiseshipcerts. I bet you don’t know this, but after every one of them, he takes the time to pass around copies of all his personal documents, which is how we know so much about him. You should try and get down your local mall the next time he comes to town, so that you can see if for yourself. Next time he might even show us how much they paid him to float down in that ice cream cone.

My best friend of many many years killed herself in January and then, you know about the very recent death of my brother. Mildred, My mother tells a funny story about when she was at a Tom Jones concert in her younger days. A really, really really large woman threw her white cotton granny panties on stage. As they sailed through the air, over the heads of the audience, someone yelled, “What is that - a parachute?” Tom heard this from stage and nearly choked laughing so hard. Of course, parachute lady takes a swing at the yeller and all hell breaks loose - security called, beer flying, etc. Now Mildred,since you seem to be an expert on the subject (and this is the question I always wanted answered, “If you were that big, and were really going to throw panties at a singer on stage, wouldn’t you go to Victoria’s and get something smaller and a little more sexyy to throw??”

Now that’s a funny story your mother told, WhassupDoc. I’ve often wondered myself about them panties, but then I found the answer to that question one day when I was hanging out in Lowe’s, listening to Taylor’s greatest hit being played over and over. I just happened to be over in the tent section, when I saw a whole wall of Granny Panties hanging up, and right next to them was a bunch of them “Do It yourself” BeDazzle kits, so I guess that must be where youallareaperfectmatch bought her one from. They must sell a lot of them, cause while I was there, a whole bus load of people turned up, that had on t-shirts that said “Shady Oaks Thud Club” , and each one of them bought at least 10 pair. A few of them even threw a pair of them panties at the speaker that DIMYP was coming out of, so I guess they were just testing them out to see how well they could fly. I sure do hope that Taylor puts a safetly net up in front the stage next time he has a concert/mallcert/cruiseshipcert/trailerparkcert, cause otherwise he’s sure gonna end up wth some big bruises.

I can’t help but worry about him a little bit, Bill, especially after I saw that speaker hit the ground after a few pars of them Granny panties hit it. It’s a good thing that Lowes just recently had thud carpet laid, or else that speaker would have broken into pieces. I think them Granny Panties should come with a warning label on them.
Now that drink you’re talking about sure does make me thirsty, so I better head on down to Lowes soon and pick up a few cases of koolaide, so I can make me one of them. We have a weight problem in the US and I guess it’s even worse down South than in other parts of the country. Please ladies - stop stuffing your faces, lose the weight, exercise and take care of your health. The older you get, the more health problems you will have. Thudcity, I don’t think you can join the shady oaks thudders, unless you’re over 80 and live at the shady oaks retirement home. I heard they have a great time over there, so you just might want to make the move. I looked on their website, http://www.IthuddedandIcantgetup.com, and it says that every friday night is Thud night, so maybe you can join in one night. It says that they spend 30 minutes thudding over pictures of Taylor, then 4 hours trying to get back up again. It also said they had a record turnout last week, when them ice cream cones pictures started coming out, cause they just love a man in splarkles. It said they got so excited about it that they had to hand out 5 boxes of depends before the night was over. It’s a shame they didn’t have any of the limited edition ones with Taylor’s face on them, but I guess that wouldn’t have worked cause they would have spent the whole night thudding over their diapers, instead of looking at the pictures.

I just got back to Lowe’s and had to hurry back over here so I can share the latest news. Not only are Lowe’s the newest stockist of Depends, they put them right over by the Granny panties, so they’d be easy to find. They must expecting more busloads of people from Shady Oaks, so I guess they didn’t want them to have to walk far. They even moved their thud mats over there, and it’s a good thing too, cause anyone looking at them Depends are gonna need them. Not only did they get some stock in of this months limited edition, they also got some of last months which has Taylor in that ice cream cone floating over the stage. When that cone hits the stage, it means it’s time for a change. Now if you thought that was the best Depends you’ve ever seen, then you might just change your mind when you see the latest limited edition. This time, Taylor’s standing there on the stage wearing that sparkly suit, but when that suit stops sparkling , then you know you better get to that bathroom as fast as you can.
It sure was nice of Depends to honor Taylor by putting his face of these diapers. I bet there ain’t many artists that have an accomplisment like that at the top of their list.

Thank-you for many beautiful comments about the loss in my family. Our family suffered a most crushing blow, and the last two days have been the worst in our entire lives. We spent today making funeral and burial arrangements for my 20-year-old niece. People have been so incredibly kind. Thank-you for your prayers. My sister especially needs them, especially with the upcoming services on Sunday and Monday. I don’t know how she’s going to make it through. She is strong but this is so crushng.
When tragedy hits, you realize who and what is truly important and what is not.
PLEASE PLEASE, when you see your kids or grandkids or their friends being depressed and sad, get them help and to help. Make sure they’re aware of suicide hotline numbers and crisis intervention centers. Don’t think they’ll just ‘get over it’ because they might not, or they could be pretending they are ok when they’re not. Don’t end up in the situation that our family is in this week…

WHASSUPDOC, I’ve got some more news that might make you never want to leave Lowe’s again. I just got an email now from the Lowe’s safe thudders club, and I’m so excited about it, that I might be needing some of them depends soon. It looks like Taylor’s gonna be starting a Lowe’s tour in the fall, and this will be his first hardwarecert ever, so that can go right up at the top of that accomplishment list, cause this really is a major one. I called Lowe’s just as soon as I found out about it, cause I wanted to make sure I got my ticket before the folks down at Shady Oaks found out about it, so I could make sure I got a seat that was out of the way of them flying granny panties. I asked them where the concert was gonna be, and they said they were gonna have it out in the garden center, and stack up the bags of manure so that we’d have a place to sit down. I guess they thought them Shady Oaks folks might be thudding all over the floor if they didn’t make these manure bleachers for them, so at least none of us will end up tripping over them. I hope everyone here makes sure they get their tickets early, cause those bleachers are gonna sell out real fast, especially once it’s advertised in the Geritol weekly. Them thudders are gonna start coming out of the woodwork to buy them tickets.
Karma, I’d be more than happy to take you along to the next trailerparkcert I go to. I’m not sure if you need to get those fake tattoo’s , cause you can head rght on down to Lowe’s and get one of those BeDazzle yourself kits and make yourself a tattoo the way everyone at the last trailerparkcert did. I’m sure it don’t hurt too much, and you might even have enough left over to BeDazzle your clothes as well. Once you do that, you’re gonna fit right in. I know you might not like the thought of buying them Granny panties, but I’d suggest picking up a few pairs just to have for protection, cause some of them trailer parks ain’t exactly in the best part of town, so you might need something to slap upside a few heads, in case you get thudded on by some of them rough looking fans.

Votem- you are so right about depression. Unfortunately, I know more about that than I wish I did. And I know the heartache you are going through and the shock and the what if’s. As I mentioned before my best friend of 30 some years killed herself in January. On my birthday, I spoke at her service. I still have not gotten over her death although I pretty much knew what she was going to do - I could not stop her. I still grieve for her everyday and for her son and her grandchildren. But I take peace in knowing that she is no longer a tortured soul. Death is never easy and especially when it is so unexpected. And a parent should never have to bury a child. Your family and your sister will be in my prayers.
Although I have laughed tonight I still have a very heart over losing my brother so suddenly. And I still cry for him everyday and for his family. The love and support I got here when he was killed helped me so much. More than any of you can know. And I hope our thoughts and prayers will help get you through this very difficult time. If you ever want to talk - you know where to find me ((hugs))

Why just a couple days ago the thudding caused an underground explosion in San Francisco. (I knew some of them gals looked like men). Until we improve our THUD mats to absorb up to 1000 lbs, we just better leave a hardware payperview show out of this.

I hope everybody knows that even though we’re joking around, we have very strong feelings of sympathy for those of you who have lost loved ones. We are all in this life together, and your loss is our loss as well.

I was not on the site for a few days, so i didn’t know about the tragedy in your family. I lost a cousin to suicide when I was a teenager, so i can imagine the pain you have been in. I’m so sorry.

I was just turned on to this place -
First I’d like to say - I’m very sorry for this person who has lost a family member. I’m sorry I don’t know your name, I have a lot of reading to do here to really get to know what’s what - But all the same A lost is a lost and the pain hurts!
I’m not sure if I fit in here - I’m a very realistic Taylor fan But a fan of a few other idols & a fan of many others.
But when this BBQ/light bulb blog was put up a few of us on a Taylor site had a bunch of laughs with it, And of cause the loons bitched up and started in with the guessing game of who it is & how much they hated GC they also let us know that it wasn’t funny and basically we shouldn’t be laughing at Taylor’s expense of cause they made it known how much they didn’t like GC.
I just don’t get it. What was the big deal- with the blog? Can someone explain it to me please. I didn’t go to GC much
But I thought the BBQ blog was cool
